The community of Yakutat is located on the Gulf Coast of Alaska and surrounded by the Wrangell St. Elias National Park and Tongass National Forest, the largest National Forest in the United States and the largest contiguous temperate rainforest in the world. Yakutat is located approximately 212 miles northwest of Juneau, approximately 366 southeast of Anchorage, and approximately 1085 miles northwest of Seattle.

Transportation to Yakutat is by air or sea. Yakutat has daily scheduled commercial jet service that directly connects with Juneau, Cordova, Anchorage, and Seattle. Yakutat is also serviced by the State of Alaska Marine Highway, which has regular scheduled ferry service to communities in southeast Alaska, Bellingham, Washington, and Prince Rupert, British Columbia.

How to Access

The Yakutat Alaska Subdivision is located approximately 2.3 miles from the Yakutat Airport, and 1.5 miles from the ferry terminal. The parcels can be reached by taking Airport Road to Glacier Bear Avenue.

Electricity in Yakutat is provided by Alaska Village Electric Cooperative (AVEC). The overhead powerlines run along the east side of Glacier Bear Avenue. The parcels do not have power lines directly connected to the parcel. Electrical connection arrangements should be made with AVEC.

Sewer is typically handled by on site septic systems which need to meet requirements of the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation requirements.
