Land Use Application

The Trust Land Office authorizes certain requests for use of Trust land when that use is consistent with Trust management principles, as defined in regulation (11 AAC 99). Parties interested in applying for use of Trust land must submit a fully completed application along with a $500 non-refundable application fee.  The $500 application fee will not be refunded if your application is denied.

Step-by-Step Application Process

Step 1: Go to the application entry page by selecting the Trust Land Office Online Land Use Application Form here or use the button link above.

Step 2: Select whether you are applying as an Individual, Business, or Government Agency.

Step 3: Complete the two-page application form. You may save and close the application at any point if you have provided, at a minimum, your name and email address. Once saved, you will be emailed a link to return to your application. The form will time-out after 30 minutes of being idle, and failure to save regularly may result in lost information or cause you to restart from scratch. At any time, you may print an application for your records. You will have up to 30 days to complete and submit your application otherwise the saved form will be deleted and the emailed link will no longer be valid.

Step 4: You may attach additional documents to supplement your application as necessary to describe your project, access, or location. The maximum size of each attachment may not exceed 10MB.

Step 5: Once you have completed the online application form, you may submit your application to Trust Land Office by selecting the “Submit” button located on the second page of the form. Upon submitting your application, you are no longer able to edit the application but you may continue to view or print a copy for your records. An email notification will be sent including your application number and instructions to pay the $500 application fee. You will have 30 days to submit payment otherwise your application will be deleted.

By submitting your application online, you agree with the Trust Land Office to use “electronic” means to conduct “transactions” (as those terms are used in the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act, AS 09.80.010 – AS 09.80.195) that relate to the application form and that Trust Land Office need not retain the original paper form of this record, and may retain this record as an electronic record and destroy the original.

You may also submit a hard copy to the Trust Land Office for consideration. Hard copies mailed or hand delivered to the Trust Land Office's Anchorage office may take longer to process and must include the non-refundable $500 application fee.

Step 6: Mail check or pay by credit card. Please reference your application number on the payment to ensure timely processing. Your application will not be reviewed until payment of the application fee has been received. The $500 application fee will not be refunded if your application is denied.
