Joint Advocacy Preliminary Report

The 30th Alaska Legislature adjourned its work early morning, Sunday, May 13, several days before its constitutionally mandated 121-day limit. The approved FY19 budget is similar in many ways to the FY18 budget, with noteworthy increases to support public education, hire front line social workers, and bolster public safety. The attached preliminary report includes bills that passed, bills the Trust and advisory boards tracked that did not pass or were rolled into other bills, and budget items relevant to Trust beneficiaries that were tracked in the Operating, Mental Health, and Capital budgets. Budget items reflect the best information available, however, any of these bills or budget items can be vetoed by the Governor, so this report is considered preliminary at this time, until the Governor signs each bill.
