The Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority (Trust) announces the hiring of Katie Baldwin-Johnson as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Prior to accepting this role, Katie served as the Trust’s Senior Program Officer, a role she has held for 6 of her 14 years with the Trust.
Baldwin-Johnson brings more than three decades of Trust beneficiary-related advocacy, direct service and program administration work to the role of Trust COO. In addition to being a Licensed Professional Counselor, she has extensive experience in program development, grant oversight, and financial management within state, local, federal and Tribal organizations.
“Katie brings not only a wealth of experience to the Trust’s COO position, but a genuine passion for improving Alaska’s
system of care, and the lives and circumstances of Trust beneficiaries,” said Steve Williams, Trust CEO. “The board of trustees and I are excited to work with her in this new role.”
As COO, Baldwin-Johnson will oversee the program, policy and planning, and grant administration functions of the Trust. She replaces Steve Williams, who recently vacated the Trust COO position to serve as the organization’s Chief Executive Officer.
