Location
Ketchikan is located on the southwestern coast of Revillagigedo Island, opposite Gravina Island, near the southern boundary of Alaska. It is 679 miles north of Seattle and 235 miles south of Juneau. It is the first Alaska port of call for northbound cruise ships and state ferries.
Ketchikan is regional service center to the surrounding communities with regularly scheduled jet service from the Ketchikan International Airport, the Alaska Marine Highway System, the Inter-Island Ferry Service, and local air and water taxi services. Ketchikan's economy is diverse and includes a large fishing fleet, fish processing, tourism, and logging.
